So a new club has been formed. Does one of the moderators of this site have anything to say about it ?
Has the 'old' club ie cougars 2001 Ltd gone bust, who else is a director of cougars 2010?
What were the debts, have more local traders lost money to the black hole in Lawlkholme?

Is this official ?
Has the old Club been renamed or gone into liquidation and a new one formed?
Is this more rumour or fact?

It's a new one on me.

It's not really fair on the club, new directors etc if this has been put in the media before an official announcement has been made.

I don't know the full details of 2001 but thought that the current (?) directors tried to do their best considering the situation someone else had put the club in.

I am not to sure what this "historic debt" is but I don't like the idea of companies running away from their debt, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I can see why new investors do not want to carry existing debt - they want a clean start to get the best bang for their buck. If the club is reforming I hope other businesses do not get hurt. The club needs all the goodwill it can get.

Lets see what the announcement is.

It will be a real struggle to overcome a points deduction.

We've not been in administration so I'm not sure we'd be deducted points.

As for Cougars 2001, who knows, hopefully no one gets shafted (including people like myself who bought a season ticket 2 days before this crisis broke).

The most important thing though is that Keighley Cougars lives on.

I'm not certain how it works but assume that the old club would be liquidated and the new club would need to ask permission from the RFL to continue. Depends if they (the RFL) attatch strings. Also, remember that the RFL own the Lease on the ground.
