What about a sponsord darts evening. Sure there is some good dart players out there in cougar land.
Get some of the players to take part.

I find it disgraceful that we dont entertain away fans when thier team scores - no music - just a grumpy confirmed scorer mention. It has to change IMHO.

There was a very relevant post regarding purchasing ale - it needs speeding up plus not everyone wants to enter the HOF Bar. I heard a trestle table was set up but didn't work - perhaps it needs a re-think even if its just soft drinks for the kids?

Hang/place some merchandise (Priced to sell) behind the bar (Whilst folk have their wallets out) for those impulse buys.

Home V Away fans tug 'o' war at Halftime (Best of three) over the half way line(Or in front of the largest crowd). It would entertain me on a wet pitch!

There is the obvious fan V fan goal kicking contest - but maybe with a twist? A penalty shoot out (As in the round ball game) - underneath the posts with a rugby ball, fan (kicker) v fan (goalkeeper) five each?

Put some of these fan V fan contests together to create an its a knockout style half time competition. Winning fans get a rugby ball signed by their team? (Easy to do as ball would be signed before game starts) Just the cost of a ball and a marker pen?

Erm... I'll have a couple more slurps and try to think of some more left field type stuff... unless anyone else has any ideas?

Music when opposing team scores??? Will ask joe to play something if people think it is a good idea??? We went to most away games last year and listened to the music being played and not one played music when the opposing team scored but we can give it a try. If anyone has a music request please let me know as peoples tastes differ. When the PA system is improved in the car hand wash stand it should sound better.

Lots of good ideas if anyone is free on Wednesday we are having an update session for the fundraising committee at 7.00 at Cougar Park. 17/3/10.

Improved pre match entertainment maybe?

Arrange schools matches before the game, Greenhead vs Holy Family for example and directly link it with ticket offers aimed specifically at them schools to get friends, family down to watch them and the main event.

It needs to be done right though. My cousin's son played in a pre match game down there and it was finished early so that the players could warm up. 4 members of my family left unhappy, didn't watch the game and haven't come back since.

Good call about music when the away team score Whinger.
goosey maybe it could be just one song that is used?

Also like the idea of putting Hang/place some merchandise (Priced to sell) behind the bar (Whilst folk have their wallets out) for those impulse buys. the only drawback is it might slow down the speed at which the bar staff can serve beer.
Maybe have it on display, with a sign telling them they can buy it at the club chop.

Cheers for the input Stealth Comic. That is something that could be looked at. Maybe later in the season when the weather is better.

Isn't it all about the match day experience for all? It would be good to be known as a great fixture to attend if you're a visiting spectator - think grand finaly typee thingee...

How about Keighley provide free coach travel for any away fan pre purchasing an adult ticket for the game at Cougar Park , any adult then deciding to make their own way free's up a place for a junior , this is advertised 2/3 weeks earlier at the away clubs match and you end up with anything up to double the amount traveling , get the coaches setting off 30 minutes earleir than normal , so you have extra time for the pre match festivities

The same thing then done when the Cougars are the visitors

Result , bigger crowds all round , a better atmosphere at the matches , and a lot of happier fans of real RL clubs in the best RL comp in the country
