I think reaching out to fans of other clubs is a very good idea and hopefully this will be a success.

Personally I think trying ways to get new supporters watching the cougars can only be god.

The long time supporter does raise a valid point however other clubs try various ways to get new fans so why not the cougars.

As a suggestion perhaps the club could do a promotion for the fans like the long term fan or any other fan by targeting a game for example Gateshead type where there is minimal away support and make it a £5 for everyone.

Whether feasible or not is for club to decide because at the end of the day they have to make money.

Let's hope we won't be playing Gateshead next season - that is unless it's in a single 'Championship' division!

I can understand existing fans being upset at folk getting in for a fiver but look at the big picture, this has created alot of interest amongst Wakey fans and I would say between 25 & 50 may come along , That will increase your income, more in the pot so to speak for JD to spend on new players to the benefit of Keighley fans. For interest what refreshment facilities do you have within Cougar park ? Is the nearest pub with food the one on the left on the last roundabout of the dual carriageway from Bingley ?

That's the nearest pub with food. Although the Stockbridge Arms is nearby, take the 4th exit on that roundabout and it's about 300 yards on the left.

We've a decent sized bar inside the ground

Good on ya Feline , bring as many as you can with you !! The Toby inns pub - the beeches - does a cracking carvery.....think it's about 7 quid on a Sunday....well worth a visit pre match.

Thanks for that. My son was born in Keighley so have always had a soft spot for them , in fact he is 21 on 8 Sept so another reason to come over that weekend. Of course all Wakey fans also have a soft spot for JD.

Wish I could make it but unfortunatly I have something else on that was booked last year.JD was a great player for Wakey and I for one would have loved to come along to give him something back.I hope he gives the Keighley fans as much as he gave the Wakey fans and if he can you are in for a very good ride.
