Keighley 58 Dudley Hill 6 : Sun Mar 25, 2012 5:20 pm
In the first half we blew them away, their pack was destroyed and every time we shifted the ball we looked like we were going to score a try.

Then in the second half we took the foot off the gas. We lacked shape and direction, mainly down to Danny Jones coming off the field. To their credit Dudley Hill stuck at it, they improved their discipline which killed them in the first half, and they got a try they deserved. Good to see their heads didn't drop and they didn't resort to any dirty stuff.

Fair assessment Stelth,I agree , just can imagine the team talk at half time being something like, job done boys, complete your sets of 6 and see out the second 40 without picking up any unnecessary injuries or sin bins etc,Respect to Hill, they stuck to their game plan and come out of the game with their heads held high, fair play to em.

The pairing of March and Jones was brilliant. They regularly got the ball moving out to the threequarters and some excellent backing-up paid dividends.

One of Danny Lawton's best games in a Cougar shirt with powerful running and he well deserved his four tries.

Duffy's gathering of high-balls was excellent, as was his running.

Some tough decisions for JD before we take-on Hunslet next week.

Not one of Coleman's better games today. Clough didn't impress either; back to his 'old self', giving away penalties and ball.

Looking forward to seeing Semi back next week as well as Sam Obst; but who to leave out?

Pity that Dudley Hill's right and left wingmen started petty niggling late on though.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

Anon.

Would agree with most of that, well done Dudley Hill for getting stuck in in the second half but no need for your no's 2 and 4 to stick the nut in on prone players. Not clever, not hard. :NAUGHTY:

Definitely didnt see alex do anything like that, hes been there and done that at your level and not the type of lad to do anything like that, saying that paul march had to have a dig though typical of the idiot in my opinion! enjoyed the day out, you were very clinical in the first half and looked very good shifting the ball wide, i think the ref didnt help, we would have nowhere near won today you wer that good but its a well known fact the hatred him and his twin brother have for us! a few dubious calls which i think if they would have gone our way our lads may have had the confidence toget another try or two. But all in all good day out good luck in next round!

In the second half your no. 4 just seemed to loose the plot. To be fair to Paul March, he has kept his agression under control whilst at keighley.

It was interesting to see the difference in approach of the two teams when someone was injured. I could have sworn your physio produced a pie for your number 8, who didn't move until he had seconds.

I hope the game has given you a bit of cash, you certainly earned it in the second half.

Out of interest was your left winger really a prop forward in disguise? He seemed a big lad and bust 3 tackles for the try he had disallowed.

You wouldnt have said that if you saw the gash he had to have stitched up in his mouth ha ha, As far as im aware we didnt do overly great cash wise someone mentioned only 800 which is disappointing if true, and on the subject of physios yours was a disgrace yesterday winding our lads up and then asking the match commisioner to move everyone e has history at our club and obviously cant let it go

No hes an out and out winger, hes a gamebreaker for us and regularly goes the lenth of the field! He is deceptively quick, in my opinion he should be playing at a higher level and wouldnt look out of place in a team like yours, he would be devastating on the end of some of the rugby you played yesterday! oh and i thought the try should have been given too!

Re: Keighley 58 Dudley Hill 6 : Mon Mar 26, 2012 12:53 pm
Paul March played a cracking game yesterday.
He ran the show in the first half.

Chris Clough also had a great game till he got injured. The amount of times he got the ball out of the tackle really was top draw. He always seem to be looking to off load the ball. Cant wait till the players near him, start to follow him when he has the ball. He really has the ability to open up gaps.

It was a shame the second half didn't lead to more tries. I was fully expecting 80+ after half time.

As for the Dudley Hill number 4. Shame he started to lose the plot. It started in the first half. He seemed to be moaning at the ref every time we scored.
At one stage behind the sticks, he had 3 of his team mates telling him to calm down.
Then in the second half after tackling Jodie Sheriff, he was clearly using the head in the tackle. Jodie just kept his calm and got on with the game.

There two best players were the fullback and the number 10.
