That said, it doesn't look like JD has too many options for Thursday.

Although he wasn't mentioned, I don't know what game the ref was at, but he certainly wasn't at Cougar Park. No penalties for Fax laying-on - always 3 men in the tackle, intentionally slowing-down the game always went unpunished, ot playing the ball correctly and then 'old-manning'the ref again after Worrincy had dropped the ball and then running back to his position and laughing about how he'd done it!

That said, we didn't help ourselves whilst Fax showed how to 'run the angles' and back-up.

The fat touch judge wasn't good either - shouting 'get-off' to the two tackling Cugars yet saying nothing to the three Fax tackers!

We were poor today.

We made far too many errors, we tried to force the play too much trying to score off every set instead of trying to build pressure. Our kicking game was appalling, we never kicked in to their in goal area to force a repeat set. When they got a bit of a roll on, our defence ended up with more holes than a swiss cheese, we were tackling in 1s and 2s and were letting them offload at will.

4 missed kicks at goal cost us a bonus point.

The ref was appalling, but he wasn't the reason we lost. The moron who started giving him abuse as he was leaving Cougar Park after the game was bang out of order.

The kicking game was a bit rushed, we had a lot of possession in the second half and wasted alot of it on wrong options. Several players had terrible kicks, one out on the full and a couple of up and unders with no pressure on.

All Danny Jones kicks were from the corner so wouldn't expect him to get them all, however we only lost by one try so the game could have been a lot closer and a bonus point available.

We looked knackered in the second half and we seemed to get a lot of knocks, this led to them fliniging the ball around and offloading for about 20 minutes which led to a devastating period of points (obviously the half time talk worked). the floodgates were not opened though and credit to the team for that, shame not to get a bonus point (though Obst had a chance in the last seconds).

Obst seems to be frustrated with the game at this level, however he often chooses the wrong option and had a certain try in the 1st half to then cut inside and we lost possession. I cant see any super league clubs after him at the moment, i think he needs a bit of a reality check. My opinion but he just doesnt seem that interested, that said he has moments of real quality like scooping the ball up at full pelt from acting half back to then get a pass away. Gamechanging moments like at York, but i think he can deliver so much more for us.

As for the Referee, they are all cr*p but thats how it is. Im being hypocritical as in the heat of the game I get wound up when I think theyve made a bad call. They are reffing a game that the RFL wont know is on, for naff all pay and being heckled for 80 mins. I considered doing referee training but keighley fans put me off, every play towards us in the second half is met with a roar of 'referee!', insetad of getting behind the team.

We lost the game not the ref, it may have been closer with a descion or two in our favour but we would not have won. We'll beat fev i think, just fling the ball about like fax did to us.

Agree about Obst,seems to shake his head a lot when things dont go to plan.Just get on with it,we are semi pro ,simple as.

As for Fax,they were just quicker at everything and wanted it more than us.To be honest it was a joy to watch.

I think that's a little unfair regarding Obst. For me he's been one of our stand out players so far. He wasn't at his best yesterday, but lets face it who in the Cougars squad really shone. Some big hits for Jode in the first half and a solid game by Barnett, barring his usual error or two. Most of the performances were in my opinion forgettable. Is Obst shaking his head a sign of frustration or that he cares and is committed?

The fact is Fax did to us yesterday what we did to them at the Shay. They put 3 in the tackle and slowed us down. Yes a few may well have been late attempts at the tackle or flop's but they got away with it. Fax moaned a bucket load at the Shay but KH picked up on it and used it to his advantage. I don't hear many Fax fans moaning now. The ref was poor by anyone's standards. Bring back Ronnie L! The ref wasn't the reason we lost though but it does add to the frustration. I know I will be biased on decisions, but it seemed like we got nothing yesterday.

We try to force the play and need to be more patient. Some of the moves I am sorry to say are telegraphed and easily defended.

Feav will be as tough, if not tougher on Thursday and unless we can lick the wounds and put in a big improvement we could be starring down the barrel of another defeat I am sorry to say.
