As i said i saw your game on Sunday , and my prediction is Leythers 40 - Cougars 12 , we wont be as generous as Swinton .

Completely pointless game for us, can't finish anywhere other than 6th. If we lose we're likely to go to Fax in front of a big shared gate crowd in the playoffs. Might as well give some of the young lads a chance and save ourselves.

In his interview for our programme, JD talks of wanting 'to put on a performance, going into the play-offs' to set up an impetus for those games.

Put the performance in against Fev by all means, you could even deny them the bonus point they still need to finish top should we win our last two games

I understand your point but I don't agree. Deliberately putting out weakened squads when you don't need to can be counterproductive. If we need to rest players to get over injuries then fine, but if they are all fit and fresh they should play. I am all for giving young lads a chance, but in their time and place.

We should try to give Leigh the best possible game we can to revitalise confidence. However, I accept that Leigh have "hit the straps" at the right time of the season and will be a handful for anyone to play.

I very much hope we can compete and keep it close, we are capable on our day, but the way Leigh are playing at the mo, and at home, I can't see anything other than a victory to them.

After all that Leigh have gone through, they have regrouped, worked hard and got better on and off the field as the season has gone on. A big congratulations to them.

We are inconsistent. Those three words sum up our season on and off the field.

Thanks for the kind comments about our club. Don't be too hard on your own club - it's very rare that a team gets promoted and reaches the play-offs. I consider that a big achievement. As far as Thursday goes, you never can tell. We've suffered bad injuries to two or three key players and, as you say, you've been inconsistent. Personally I'd prefer you to become consistent again, when you met Featherstone the following week!!

I'm not really being hard, just realistic.

JD has had the dilemma of every coach that has a large squad to pick from: you know you have cover, but if everyone stays fit you have to keep them happy. Rotating the squad has caused problems.

But, as you say, reaching the playoff's in our first year is a big achievement and one I would have been very happy with at the start of the season.
