I hope not. Our only club locally would be the Dulls and if that ever happened I'm sure many would walk away.

I'd be one of those who'd walk away for good if we did it with Br*dford.

Interestingly the linked article reads that Hunslet are run by their supporters trust, HIST. Now if you mix those letters round a bit.........

You conveniently get my opinion of the concept.

Problem is as far as I'm aware that the RFL are encouraging Chanmpionship Clubs to become 'feeder' clubs to the SL teams, therefore throwing out decades of local boys making it in their local teams and therefore the interest/town pride that that and the following it brings out in one foul swoop.

Hate to keep banging on about it but our reserve team which is 90% locally produced /linked under these plans would go to the wall in favour of Bradford brought in boys who have no lifetime allegiance/ loyalty to our club like our current reserves.

Jez , Dean , ad others in the past have put in place a framework that is bringing quality young players to the club , why should we forego that because our more illustrious neighbours want a slice of it .??

Can’t see any benefit whatsoever to the Championship club. You are surely surrendering any aspirations of being anything other than a Championship club! For Hunslet the Rhinos will scoop up any promising players and in return they will see a procession of fringe players turning out at South Leeds. Interesting to see Gary Hetherington mentioned. Didn’t he once ‘help us’ by relieving us of eight of our best players?
Trouble is, while this may look good in the short term the long and proud history of the myrtle and flames is effectively over.
Surrendering control of our Alliance team is the first step and the good work done here by Dean and Jeremy should not be thrown away and gifted to Bulls.

I'd be happy if Cougars established a working relationship with an Australian NRL club. How about Gold Coast Titans? - the son of former Keighley player Tom Searle runs it.

The Cougars have always been most successful when they've dared to dream and certainly dared to be different. Keighley cannot just roll over and die like Hunslet is doing

That's not a bad idea, but I think the NRL already have links and feeder style clubs, i.e JD's new team are the feeder for the Cowboys. I'm not sure the future is that bright for the Titans, but what about the Rabbitohs. One red and green army to another?

Nah. They'll have too many ex Br*dford players there next season.

We could think big and go for the Broncos, with a local lad playing in the Centres for them.

Or my Uncle owns a few shops in and around Melbourne, perhaps we could get Billy Slater over on Dual Reg?

This is exactly why we must help secure the future of the cougars , join the Pride in the red and green , next meeting in the H O F bar tonight 7:30 , all welcome.
All monies raised by the Pride in the Red and Green is going direct to the Squadbuilder fund and nowhere else.
