Get rid of that awful blackboard at the top entrance and put up a new sign with more vibrant colours and punch.Thousand of cars pass the ground every week and you wouldnt even know there was a match on.Might cost a bit of money but MANY eyes would see it.

Spot on.

It's of a few things that make the club look a bit amateurish. A good sign there could not just say when there is a game on, it could advertise other events, that the bars are available for hire for functions, business meetings etc.

Also, what about a new scoreboard?

Somebody nudging the minute hand around every so often doesn't exactly look good does it?

You say that, but i think the club missed a real trick regarding that stick.

Catfink did offer to sponsor it.

I have to say I was a tad dissapointed that the Leigh speckies wern't entertained as well as I would have wished today. I cannot understand why when we score a try we play music and celebrate the try and when leigh score we miserably announce the try scorer????

We have to be different and start by entertaining everyone in the ground.

As spectators of Rugby League we applaud a well made opposition try, so why not celebrate it? We want away spectators to enjor their experience as well - don't we?

Run a competition in the Keighley News to win a VIP day at Cougar Park; possibly including -

Attend a training session (See how it works)
Travel to away game (with the players)
VIP entertainment including meal etc
Return with the players

Or

VIP entertainment for six people at a home game at Cougrrr Park plus all the trimmings

Or

Free conference/banqueting room for any event (Subject to availability) F&B not included at Cougrrr Park...

Use this competition for data capture (Email Data base) and then use this data for e-letter/promotions etc..

If the Cougrrrs arn't already doing it - set up contra deals with expenditure lines ie printing, shirt manufacturer, ale - free use of C&B facilities including discounted F&B for similar supply of these cost lines?

Discuss with ground suppliers, free advertising for supply of fertilisers/aeration/white lining etc...

Approach other clubs to determine their suppliers and join with them to improve buying power to gain purchase discounts.

I like the some of the ideas above and think most would work.

But my idea is we get some experienced, bigger players 1st that would attract more people to come and then these might even be potential season ticket holders and see the crossbar challenge and other things.

Don't get me wrong the are all great and work hard, and Barry Eaton's done a great job IMO but with these experienced, bigger players we would shke off the points deduction and try and survive then nxt year with the NEW fans we can push for newer brighter things with more income from bigger gates.

I hear ya - it would be great to bring in a player with a 'reputation' which could help market the club, dare I say it, a Robbie Paul (Mentioned today by AJ)... At this time I'm only considering cost saving exercises..
