Really proud of the team's effort today against the defending champions and even money favourites to retain their title.

In the first half we were absolutely immense our kicking game, especially from Danny Jones, was superb. Our intensity in defence was fantastic. We made 1 mistake, they scored a try from it. We had them well and truely rattled, lesser teams would have folded under our onslaught.

In the second half we again came out all guns blazing. In all fairness we probably lacked a few ideas to break an exceptionally well organised defence. We couldn't score. Then Fev capitalised on a few repeat sets from a few of our errors and scored. As great sides do they took full advantage of the momentum shift and quickly scored another 2. To our credit we managed to pull ourselves together and salvage a bonus point.

Again I fully agree with the choice of Craig Moss as Man of the Match he was superb.

I know we lost but this was one of the best games I've seen at Cougar Park in a long time. The crowd of over 1,600, a fair few more than I thought would come, gives us more reason to be optimistic.

If we play like that for the rest of the season we'll win a hell of a lot more games than we lose.

Again a good summary from Stealth and I agree. I went away from the game positive rather then despondent. Whilst not perfect, Hewer was far better than a much berated Lawton last week. I know on another fans site Feav fans seem to bemoan the lack of a sending off for the head high shot which in my opinion was no worse than the spear tackle on Korky. Neither offence was a red in my opinion and I think the respective penalties were the correct decision.

Having just watched the highlights video I see everything even more positive. I know Semi came in for some comments by my crew, but having watched the video I'm far from certain he was guilty of reafing the ball in that tackle compared to what we see in SL every week, that was a decent enough pass he gave the to Danny under the posts and is one of few wingers in the squad this year who would have actually scored that try given the defenders he was up against. Keep the faith!

The pass from Semi that Danny Jones dropped was actually ruled forward, correctly in my opinion. I think Danny got a bit of white line fever, over ran Semi, which takes some doing, and dropped the pass as well.

I think Stealth's summation is a pretty fair one, a great performance by the lads.

A great first half but Fev really raised the intensity for 20 mins in the second and I don't think many teams would have fared any better against them.

What was really positive for me was how we finished the game. With a bit more composure Danny would have been in under the posts and I'm sure he is gutted.

If we can take this performance and repeat it against some of the "lesser" sides then we should be in for a reasonable first season in this division.

I know we lost but I came away from the game feeling positive that we competed well in the first half and our goal line defense showed a real discipline and desire. Featherstone up'd their pace in the 2nd half and we struggled to get hold of the ball. Alot of sides would have crumbled during that period and the team showed real spirit.
Know JD and the lads will be disappointed to lose but so many positives to take from the game.

It was a good day all round. Shame there was no black sheep on in the bar, but otherwise it was a cracking day. A good laugh, some sunshine, and though we all like to see our team win, and we did just that, I think you can take some comfort in a well earned BP against the champions who aren't yet firing on all 17 cylinders!!
All in all, another good day at Cougar Park. I like the place.
