I wouldn't class myself as "not impressed", maybe a bit suprised we didn't amass more points in second half. Like the last post says, we rested some players today. I'll be interested to hear JD's views on this. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but we are in the competitive part of the season now (some maybe see the NRC as a platform to try things out) and I would like to see a our best 17 take the field each week. We had no midweek game so the players should have been rearing to go after last weeks win against the Skolars. I understand the need to rest players or to allow injuries to heal etc...
Was it a case that JD felt he could rest some players today and still get the win? Or, did we have 5 players out with minor injuries. I'm aware that JD wasn't 100% midweek and inferred he may not play and appreciate Helliwell's bruising may be a week or so off before he's fit to play.
Players have different styles and characteristics and by playing week in week out with these players you get to know them and know where they'll be. By chopping and changing the team I think it affects the cohesion. Maybe we could afford to do it today and get away with it, but I would like to see a settled side, form and injuries allowing.
JD is the coach and am sure he knows the squad situation better than me, just my opinion........................
