I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.
What i'm getting at is whilst society in general is becoming more liberal
Now you've opened up a can of worms! I could strongly argue that parts of society are NOT more liberal.
Rugby League has become more prudish and in my opinion to it's detriment.
All sport has been. It started with the national effort to curb football hooliganism. I remember being stood in the Longside at Turf Moor as a 14 year old - Things have changed for the better.
You've got to admit it was so much better down at Cougar Park 15 years ago.
Yes it was much better - we had the spice boys. At a time when alternative comedians were making swearing fashionable, they took football songs and replaced the swear words to such good effect that it was fun - everyone loved them. Kids used to come down just to say they had stood next to them, adults would move to that part of the ground just to join in, when we were away they galvanised our support. They made coming to rugby an event. Sure they swore occasionally and amongst themselves, but they self policed themselves and quite often actually apologised to those who heard them. Lads who got drunk, had fun, and made match day an enjoyable experience for others (except the away team).
I'll say it again, just for those with selective hearing, The singing is brilliant, the loud swearing isn't.

I heard the swearing, I told him to shut up (as did at least 30 others) and that was that. His behaviour did not make me want to run on here and complain, because I accept that in the heat of the moment such things happen.
I had no intention of mentioning it on this board, but what I objected to here, was Stealth's apparent mitigation of his mate's behaviour yet condemnation of someone who complained, that's what made me post.
How many times do you hear it on the streets,in the town,at schools,in the workplace ,in the bar? need i go on?
Quite true, and within reason and at a moderate volume, I couldn't give two hoots. I use a few choice words myself.
However, what would happen if: You shouted in the Bank at the top of your voice "your F*ing cr@p" You shouted at the headteacher at the top of your voice "your F*ing cr@p" You shouted at your boss at the top of your voice "your F*ing cr@p" You shouted at the bargirl in a nightclub at the top of your voice "your F*ing cr@p" Need I go on
If, at a rugby match you swear conversationally it's unlikely to be overheard, but if a family overhears you, they can at least move a few meters until it's lost in the background noise. However, if you shout at the top of your voice you don't give them the choice - they can hear you everywhere.
What about last season when Barry was giving the players what for when letting in a sloppy try. F this f that.Nobody said a dickie bird cause we all knew he was right.
Not true. I heard several people complain.
FFS whats wrong with everybody
Nothing, what's wrong with you
This is a message board, people have different opinions. It's not the end of the world.
Right I've sat back and read all these posts and now it's time to say my piece, yes it was me that used the F word on Sunday, and I am ashamed of myself for doing so,I have 2 children myself and do not condone that particular swear word on any level, yes I did wrong,I admit it but have to defend myself and those who know me well enough will know that I want the best for Keighley,it was in the heat of the moment of a very frustrating afternoon of rugby,it won't happen again I assure you,one because I'll be making a conscious effort of those around me and secondly, perhaps I'll give up on the singing,95% of what came out of mouth on Sunday was praise and encouragement, the other 5 % was a regretful mistake,oh and Dreamer I did PM you a few days ago apologising, not sure if you read it,anyway that's it.

What a hippocrite I would have been if I'd have entered this debate...!

I'm sorry Andrew, I didn't see your PM. Have sent you one in return.
It wasn't the swearing that made me post, more the way it was defended. I must admit that once I get drawn into a debate I find it hard to let go until I've had my say.
We all come down to support cougars in our own way and I hope you continue to sing and enjoy yourself.
We are all frustrated by recent performances, lets just hope they can turn it around
