Freddie Cougar went bowling along with AMF! : Wed May 06, 2009 11:20 am
Keighley Cougars’ super mascot Freddie Cougar swapped sports last weekend and made a personal appearance in the AMF Bowl’s Family Fun Weekend at their Keighley Bowling Centre.
The furry super hero took to ten-pin bowling like a duck to water and he was almost undefeated in bowling challenges against members of the public.
He suffered one defeat at the hands of a five-year-old challenger called William.
“William was a tough opponent and was on top of his game”, said Freddie.
Freddie was in great form for the rest of the weekend and he even posted a strike – that’s knocking down all ten pins with one bowl.
But it all went wrong for the Cougar super hero when he faced AMF’s mascot pair ‘Bumper’ and ‘Squeak’ in a mascot challenge.
Freddie said: “I was really up for the match and was gutted when I lost. But I soon got over the disappointment.
“It was a great day out and I really love ten pin bowling. It’s a great sport for the family, just like Rugby League”.
