I'm all for it so long as the process that allows 3 teams in to the Championship is a fair one.

This is the RFL though, we could do a Dewsbury and go undefeated and miss out to 2 French Teams and the Scorpions.

I bet fans of clubs like York and Hunslet are pretty happy.

It's very interesting and there are other more detailed articles about - there is a thread on the VT.

It sounds to me like the RFL will choose clubs for the top tier of the Championship based on a number of criteria - not just playing ability. There could be some very unhappy clubs. ie if ground capacity is considered how would clubs like Hunslet, Swinton and Oldham fare?

It also sounds like the championship will only be extended if they can get more clubs in total into both divisions.

From what I've read elsewhere rumours have it that the stadium criteria will be 1500 capacity, 500 seated and floodlights good enough for Thursday night TV games.

How many does our main stand hold?

Unless you are 'of a certain age' (and cannot stand for the full 80 minutes) then the only way to watch the game is standing on the terraces. This simply goes to show how far out of touch the RFL are with the true supporters of the game.

Isn't it about time that the RFL actually did what the supporters really want:

Actual support for their Club by the governing body?
A return to promotion and relegation between all Divisions (both Championship and Super League)
Meaningful competition (by which I mean having sufficient teams in each Division of EVERY part of the game) to enable the winning team to be declared Champions by playing every other club at home and away.

The RFL dont know what the supporters want.They cannot see them from their
ivory tower.
All your points are spot on IMO,but other may feel its a step back in time.

There is even talk about teams merging to form a stronger club base.If this happens im afraid thats me done with RL

I would hate to see RL go the way of football and have all seater stadia. Obviously some seating will always be required, but plenty of terraces too, please!!!
