It's ok putting this stuff out to existing fans and sponsors, but how are the club reaching out to attract new fans?
Even things like the facebook and twitter feeds, these are perfect for the club, they're cheap to set up and operate and you can easily post up to the minute information quickly and effectively to many fans, especially in the era of the smartphone.
The thing is you need to "like" or "follow" these feeds to access them which is where the problem lies. How do new fans know we're out there? Are we just expecting them to stumble across us? Every bit of advertising be it the strap in the KN or the book full of adverts I paid £2 for a couple of weeks ago should have a little bit asking everyone how to follow the club and find out more on social networks and how to sign up for the v-mail. It's not expensive, nor is it rocket science, yet we seem sadly lacking when it comes to having marketing acumen.
