Very good to see and hear Mary Calvert is back at the club, anyone who was at the club during cougarmania will remember her and the impact she had.

In my view this is a very good off field signing.

Excellent news to see JD will play the best performing players and that Mary's back!

With the RFL demanding 'Minimum Standards', then how on earth can Oldham's ground meet them? If their ground is 'acceptable' then 'Cougar Park' is equivalent to WEMBLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, 'JD' does make some errors but his workrate and effort CANNOT be denied. It's a pity that some of our other players don't compete at the same intensity as JD for the full 80 minutes!

Hope that you recover soon MICKY, especaily for this weekend's game, as it would have been useful to illustrate Oldham's ground and its shortcomings to the RL community at large.

Apart from the 'portaloos' (on show to everyone),

['we know where you're going'

and knackering my car by 'bottoming-out' on the entry to and exit from the 'car park' (and from living in fear of it being hit by a 'touch-finder') the 'Phoenix Nights' experience ('We've only got a few raffle prizes left') will live in my mind for years to come. That said, I WILL NEVER VISIT THE VENUE AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ON SUNDAY, I SAW THE FUTURE OF CHAMPIONSHIP RUGBY AND, IF THE RFL ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT IT, THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE GAME!

You only need to check their support of Crusaders from the start to understand what I mean!

Having listened to the bleetings of people like Gary Hetherington, one half of me feels that pressure is being exerted to condem lower leagues to "feeder"status.

The other half says, surely the RFL wouldn't do that ....... would they?

If the Oldham ground (I use the term loosely) were "done up", it would be adequate for CH1, but I cannot see it fitting the minimum standards for the Championship. So what will they do if promoted?

Just posting a reply from Mary who has asked to thank everyone on here for their positive postings on the message board re her return to Cougar Park ( she is not yet used to the weird and wonderful world of Club Forums !! )

She is very appreciative of all your comments and is looking forward to meeting and working with all supporters ,old and new .

As far as I am aware Oldham would be refused promotion as am sure on their forum I have read this.
