Isn't it just belt and braces from them: if they can't get in the higher division they will start in ours.

I suppose the big question will be who will take their place in the championship: Widnes have gone up to be replaced (everyone thought) by a Wrexham team. If they end up in the lower div who will replace them?

This debacle shows again the rfl to be incompetent because in one sentence it says a reason for not being accepted into championship was because they went into liquidation so therefore by default this could and should apply to all clubs including super league, on ther hand they say its partly because their membership of the rfl lapsed.

Surely the rfl knew this and should not have misled crusaders in this way as it gave them false hope.

I just hope one way or another they manage to put a team out whichever division it is in. That is fundamentally the most important matter of this situation. No true Rugby League fan wants any club to go the wall, and I include Br*dford in that.

The more clubs we lose, the worse it gets for Keighley Cougars. If we have nobody to play against our club will die also.

To be honest, in the interest for fairness I think it should be a playoff game between York and the losing Grand Finalists should a Wrexham team be admitted to Championship 1.

Is it the same consortium behind both bids, but under different club names? All seems a bit fishy to me, although like Stealth I wouldn't want to see any club going to the wall.
But I'm struggling to maintain any faith in this idea of expanding the game artificially; How can a new club even contemplate starting any in the league other than at the bottom, and working their way up?

The 2nd consortium withdrew last week due to alleged pressure from Crusaders fans.

Assuming for one minute albeit unlikely that Crusaders decline the championship 1 place on off will there be just 9 teams next year or could they allow the winners of the conference final at Warrington into it in their place as in my view subject to meeting some criteria this is more desrving than the crusaders as it has failed miserably.

I have nothing against them at all nor against expansion but no longer should it be just for sake of it. A team that wins something surely has a right to expect promotion rather than clubs that have not.

Also assuming Barrow get relegated does that mean Dewsbury are saved?
