I'd also like to think that given the mistakes that have been made at Keighley Cougars in the past, the board and management team have budgeted sensibly and conservatively and put a well costed wage structure in place.

If they haven't then they are foolish.

Maybe so jc but take players of Korkis ability surely there are more options than just 1 club , just curious.

Stealth ..... to be honest ,thats what i was hoping...... wouldnt want a repeat of before when it was all out bank breaking signings.

Personally I dont think Korky would have been offered an SL contract for next season

So simply a championship move for him was were his options lied

Money then isnt something he can expect so I feel he has taken that on board and opted to go somewhere where he will be comfortable on a rugby front and with JD being one of his mates he made the decison to come to keighley

Thats how I conceve it, He may be on more money than a good percentage of players we have but I dont believe we have broke the bank with him

This off season there is soo little money around you can sign a player like Korkidas for a fraction of what it would have cost in years gone by.

think you have got some of that right mate. the bit you got wrong was korki was offered a sl contract by 2 clubs, 1 being quins, a 2 year deal also had a few championship clubs in for him. jk being one and another of his old bosses being another. i am certain that the thing that definitely swayed him to go to the cougars was jd wouldn't surprise me if he was busy persuading 1 or 2 others at the wildcats

The last 3 signings (Jones, Korky and March) will I'm sure be on good money. I only echo some of the comments on here. I just hope this is all within budget and the club is on the sound financial footing as reported by our Chairman. Let's also not forget, if JD has decided to hang up his boots that will free up a good amount of salary cap potential.

I really Dont think Jones and March will be on massive ammounts

They were both clubless and there was no way they were going to play at a higher level, I can se most championship clubs paying similar money for players so im sure these players will be in our budget

I think the thing that is certain is that these players wanted to come to keighley above other options, and thats the main possitve aspect

There is going to be more money, coming into the club this next season.
We will have better away following than last year.
