I don't personally see why a Cougars loss in a friendly would test anyone's loyalty but everyone's entitled to their view.
There are some positives from the first 3 outings that I have witnessed, however, our defence needs some attention. Far too many times certain players are defensively weak and we need to rectify that. I'd love to the see the stats which may in fairness prove me wrong, but we appear to have more handling errors that our opposition which appeared to me to be a problem last season. In the second half, with some better calls from a woeful ref we got some good field position, but we failed to capitalise and in the end we paid. I appreciate we ended the game with a very young side and would hope that for the Bradford game we begin to pick a more settled side. We need to get Sam and Jones playing together and Tadulala and Korky would have asked some questions of Batley tonight. I'm all for giving the young lads a shot, but maybe now is the time at trying things out with a stronger side.
On positive notes, Lewis Reed looked impressive tonight. Sam to be fair looked to be carrying a knock but showed again he will be a handful. Cloughy had a solid game IMO and Coleman got through some good defensive work.
Some positives and things to work on, but that's what friendlies are for.
