First quarter of the game was a complete disaster. Our defence was way, way too narrow. York used the excellent conditions superbly to play an expansive game to exploit the space down the flanks and quickly opened up a 18-0 lead. To be honest I think we were 1 try away from caving in. We didn't get off the bus and it was alarming how little desire we showed.

Then we decided to show what we were made of and cut a poor York defence to ribbons and pulled level at half time. The Second Half was pretty much the same, I thought both our centres had really good games I'd give the man of the match to Lawton just ahead of James H.

That said we can't afford to give the likes of Leigh, Fev and Fax that kind of a headstart in games. We really need to be switched on from the very first minute of the game otherwise it'll cost us.

Yes agree agree with that summary,think the introduction of Danny Jones changed it for me though,he settled things down and we started to play the way we can,well done to the lads for a convincing win in what could have slipped away with a further York score.

I think York should change their name to 'York Headhunters' , worrying amount of head high tackles.

Agree burleycougar, far too many bad high tackles. I wondered if we should have had a penalty try when James H was tackled near the line, maybe definite enough for the ref to call it.

I know where you're coming from with Danny Jones. He doesn't always catch the eye like Coleman does with his incisive breaks but he's what I'd describe as a field general, he guides a team around the park much in the way Lee Briers does for Warrington or Jonathan Thurston does for the Aussies.

i'd agree with most of tht but definitely thought the game changed completely through the rotations. as soon as the props changed and demetrieu came on the aggression upped noticeably along with the go forward
