The club would like to announce that JD is moving to Australia at the end of this season. I’m sure we’ll all miss him but we wish JD and his family all the best for the future. We would like to thank to him for the professionalism and success he has brought to the club.


We are pleased to announce that we have agreed terms for Paul March to take over the role of Head Coach at the end of the season. This is a two year agreement with an option for a third year. The rest of the coaching team will remain unchanged to support Paul. We hope you all welcome Paul into his new role and look forward to the next season with anticipation!

It may well be that Paul himself doesn't know yet.

Next season is 6 months away and there's some rugby to be played between now and then.

I cant see anything positive about this at all sorry, in my opinion next season will be very very tough now

Why?

All things come to an end eventually. If JD has got an offer in Australia then good for him, It's happened before and it will happen again, we have to move on.

We are fortunate to have a ready made replacement who knows the players, their strengths and weaknesses and how the club works.

Will he prove successful? We don't know, but we didn't know how an unproven coach like JD would perform when he first arrived either.

Next year will be tougher than this but one thing that we do know is that Paul March does not like to be second best. Good luck to him.

I live on the other side of the Atlantic ocean but was in my home town last year with my american wife for a family bereavement. In the midst of this, completely unannounced we stopped by Cougar park in the middle of a November afternoon. The office staff were really friendly and helpful and JD took time out from his recruitment search for the new season to spend a good hour chatting to us and couldn t have been more accommodating. He was all that RL was and is and I am really thankful for meeting him. His subsequent performance as coach has been excellent. We should make the playoffs straight out of promotion. Great job JD, great bloke. Thanks for your contribution to the club.

Gutted hes leaving been a great all rounder for us and i hope we (us and wakefield) can give him the send he deserves, good luck in the future to him and his family.

Also good luck to korki too all the best.

however with regards to next season it wouldnt surprise me if paul didnt bring his brother in the mix next season.

Well said everyone - I personally believe Paul March is the right choice to carry on where JD has taken us to - let's all give JD and Korki the send off they both deserve at the end of the season then get behind Marchy and the rest of the team for next season and what ever new players he brings in!
