Wet Nets Supports Cougars 'Your Sporting Chance ' Project : Fri Sep 21, 2012 2:02 pm
Keighley Cougars Youth Project Your Sporting Chance have literally hooked up with local fishing tackle shop Wet Nets for their summer activities with local young people .The project has been organizing diversionary sessions over the holidays for youngsters referred to the project by Neighbourhood Housing Officers , Police and Probation ,with the angling trips lead by Youth Worker’s and Cougar First Team Players Brendon Rawlins and Michael Korkidas proving particularly popular.
Royal Arcade based Wet Nets Owner and long time Cougar Supporter Andy Stell was only to pleased to assist when he heard about the trips and has provided supplies and advice to the young people .
Brendon said ‘ Andy’s help in making sure we have the correct equipment and his local knowledge of fishing waters has proved invaluable this summer.
The young people have really enjoyed the experience of learning a new hobby and they’ve been really successful with lots of fish being caught.We hope a few of them will continue with the sport in their own time and they have certainly gained some good contacts in Andy and the staff at Wet Nets’
