...you may want to give yourselves a little extra travel time due to roadworks. There is quite a long section of the A1 in the North Riding which is down to 50mph with those average speed cameras, then there's another similar but shorter section between Durham and Chester-Le-Street. On top of that, there are major roadworks in the Team Valley at Gateshead going right along past the Metro Centre where the A1 is being widened. You'll be down to 30/40mph there. It's a bit of a pain and the usual journey of around 2 hours may take that little bit longer. Hope no-one's put off! It would be nice to see a proper Cougar convoy heading up here to cheer the lads on.
