As opposed to WR, where you can take your pick from any of the corners on offer and feel confident that it will look and feel like a crowd scene from the Jeremy Kyle show?

We watched a game from our very own chav corner earlier this season for the first and last time - the language was dreadful and the stewards were joining in, so there didn't seem much hope of getting it dealt with.

The tag of 'family game' is fast becoming a myth in some parts of some grounds, if it ever existed at all.

Not really sure where this thread is going to be honest,Some people are refering to the issue as if its some new phenomena! Its not...Bad language has happened at Rugby league matches as long as the game has existed. It happens on the field, off the field and throughout all levels of the sport.Any of the so called "warts and all" exposure that RL recieves exposes this and perpetuates the "working mans game" tag.On a positive side, RL shed the horrendous grip of Rascism far quicker than football did for which we should be proud and I do not for one minute suggest we rest on our laurels, but lets not start suggesting its worse than it was because thats simply not true.If you ejected everyone who swore from a RL match the dugouts,Directors boxes and two thirds of the ground would be empty before the first half ended.

It wasn't the swearing thats bothered us,thats part and parcel, it was the shouting at players about having sexual relations with their family members amongst other things, I have been in the "middle of it" in Sheffield derbies so am certainly no prude but i wouldn't take my wife to said derbies. honestly thought RL was different.

Sadly the game does have a small minority who have no respect for social boundaries and or other peoples values.Usually they are noticeable by the smell of copious amounts of alchohol and a lack of coherency. In the past said "fans" were self policed by other supporters and or their Dads with a quiet word or a stern one if it continued and it would be a tragedy to return to the bad old days.Stewards should be far more proactive in policing this and I wonder what guidelines they follow as to what is acceptable and what isnt.If the issue is costing us new and future support then obviously thats unacceptable

Might not be true that it's worse than it was but that doesn't make it ok does it? My wife is seriously considering buying a season ticket for next season but was disgusted by the language of half a dozen 'mature' males on Saturday. Admittedly it was on the so called 'Chav corner' and we moved away. Perhaps there should be an area of the ground for people who don't want to partake in the everyday language of certain individuals?

Have you spoken to the club? I'm sure they don't want peop le being put off getting season tickets because of these people. They should put on more stewards to sort them out.

See my last post reference anti social behaviour..And unfortunate as it may be I fear you will struggle to find anywhere in the ground among the general attendance where you wont be exposed to bad language.I dont condone it,I dont use it and I cant think of a definite answer to it and my post merely raised the point that it is endemic throughout the game

Hopefully the new stadium will have a family area so that people can take their kids etc

To be honest, I think an adult being put off by bad language has got a little bit too delicate sensibilities. Like a previous poster has said, it's nothing new.

Agree on both points - I'm not offended by it per se, but I am offended when it's imposed on other people in the vicinity without any thought for how it makes them feel or if they have kids with them etc.

What's that saying - "your rights end where mine begin."
