Not really sure where this thread is going to be honest,Some people are refering to the issue as if its some new phenomena! Its not...Bad language has happened at Rugby league matches as long as the game has existed. It happens on the field, off the field and throughout all levels of the sport.Any of the so called "warts and all" exposure that RL recieves exposes this and perpetuates the "working mans game" tag.On a positive side, RL shed the horrendous grip of Rascism far quicker than football did for which we should be proud and I do not for one minute suggest we rest on our laurels, but lets not start suggesting its worse than it was because thats simply not true.If you ejected everyone who swore from a RL match the dugouts,Directors boxes and two thirds of the ground would be empty before the first half ended.
It wasn't the swearing thats bothered us,thats part and parcel, it was the shouting at players about having sexual relations with their family members amongst other things, I have been in the "middle of it" in Sheffield derbies so am certainly no prude but i wouldn't take my wife to said derbies. honestly thought RL was different.
