It's a absolute scandal what these people at the rfl get! The sport needs a shake up!

Yes...I think the RFL are far too passive on this. Bradford are in the Wilderness and we may be heading the same way. I can't speak for the current Bradford board as I don't follow them but as a Wakefield fan, we have a superb administration now trying to atone for the mistakes of the fools of the past. I think the RFL needs to be as helpful as they can to all clubs, including us. Some acknowledgement of the obstacles being put in our way ought to be made. The RFL should have had a more active policy in getting good quality grounds everywhere

I wouldn't object to that level of salary, if the sport could see a benefit from appropriately rewarding a high calibre individual to drive us forward - but we can't, and it doesn't, and as such, it's galling to see him being paid so much.

You would think that at least one person on the RFL gravy train would have something positive and helpful to contribute to clubs in situations like ours, dealing with developers, LA's and the intricacies of planning law - most of which we are enthusiastically unqualified to do.

What gets me about big Nigel's salary is he only does what he is told!! He doesn't do anything groundbreaking, he just gets a nod from the 'big' clubs and does that! Why would you be the highest paid person in super league when you don't really have any responsibility or drive to take the game forward...

His tenure in RL has the seen the downfall or near collapse of several clubs in the championship and championship one, as well as having a complete disregard for the grassroots level. He was also outed recently wearing RU clothing from head to toe.

If Wood prolongs the dispensation that Trinity receive for playing in a "sub-standard" ground, what more do we actually want from him.
It's not his fault that Wakefield play out of a "crumbling facility", indeed, we (Trinity) have been promising improvements since we made it into SL and whilst "the flats" and cover on the Northstand are certainly improvements, Belle Vue is still a long way from SL standard.
Wood, whatever his faults may be, is not to blame for Trinity's plight and IF we really dont/cant do something about where we play, we will eventually be dropped from SL.
I dont want that to happen, ever, but, you can understand that, at some point, if we cant change things, we will probably be replaced or have to "sell" our SL place or, re-locate elsewhere.

Dont tend to worry too much about what other people earn, if they are good value for it.

Unfortunately, given the state the game is in over here, I dont think he is. Add in the salaries of Rimmer and Barwick, and you could be looking at £800k for these 3.

At the moment, I think genuine rugby league fans with a knowledge of the game and business could do this at a fraction of that, and putting what money could be saved, back into the game, such as grassroots, marketing and also putting it towards working with clubs who are struggling.
