KR to beat Hull next week
either Cas or Wire to lose 4 of their remaining fixtures
or Wigan to lose 5 of their remaining fixtures
and then hope for points difference

I love the dream but I just can't see it. Match last season's 5th place and I'll be happy. So far this season feels like a much lower performance and elation than last year but there are still 8/9/10 games to go.

Not quite as good as saying if we win all our games in the 2018 season we'll finish up with the LLS.

We have to win as many as we can and hope that the wheels come off at Cas.
Ok, it's very unlikely that it will happen but, it has to be the target.

I disagree I think there are serious problems at Cas from what I saw on Friday night.

The rear nearside wheel is already lying in the gutter (shenton/eden wing) The rest of the wheels looked to have very loose wheel nuts.


However I think it could be just asking a tad too much for us to make up that much ground on them.

4 points in 8 games is too much to ask without an enormous amount of good fortune. However 6 points from 7 games might look more doable depending on how the results go next week

In saying there is nothing to play from 5th - 8th places there is 25k per place prize money and I'm sure Mr Carter will be delighted to see an extra £75k / £100k coming in to our pockets for finishing 5th, not sure you get anything for 8th?

Wishful thinking pal. We still have both our first choice half backs to bring back. Widnes away this week then a break to give us chance to regroup and get some bodies back.

To pass Cas would be an enormous task. I'm not expecting that at all.
I'd like to be the team that help decide who is in there though with some wins against top teams in the 8.

And if nothing else, I'd really like to beat Cas this time around.
I'm actually thinking I'd give up all the other games if we could beat Cas by 62 points like we did Hull. That would make the tough season all worth while.
If I'm pushed I'd settle for a 40 point win margin.

I think you are right re 8th

I'm pretty sure I can remember MC telling one of the users on here after our first top 8 finish that there is no extra money for finishing 8th

So we still have everything to play for
I would be really happy to get to 5th
