Yorkshire based Wigan scout watching young Yorkshire players and engaging with their parents. Isn't that what he's supposed to do?

I do take Snowies point that junior clubs don't always get the recognition they deserve and I think there should be some form of financial compensation for those clubs IF a player progresses to first team and even more if they gain representative honours.

Engaging with parents if only they did just that , believe that and you’ll believe anything.

Hull for example don't run their own academy team and have no reserve grade, but are maxed out on quota players.

All teams need to run reserve grade.

As for producing players, I think every Superleague team bar Cas, Hull and Saints have at least one player who has come through the Wigan academy.

Twenty players played in the first team in 2018 who had come through an academy system that has appeared in ten of the last eleven Grand Finals, winning nine.

Nore emphasis has to be put on developing our own talent than bringing in expensive often overrated quota players.

Hull have recently signed Connor Wynne from the City of Hull Academy this year, if you are quoting examples.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, as I'm only the chairman of a community club, but aren't they not suppose to make approaches through parents, doesn't a club have to express an interest in a junior player through the RFL?

You always have to go through the coaches before parents when showing interest in players then when a club is making a scholarship offer they must submit it to the RFL who then let the players know, also there is a date when this can be done and not before but all your big clubs abide by this anyway you’d be surprised at the tactics that they get up to for getting their man.
