Forget about being back in RL he has little right to be even back in society - no way should he be anywhere near RL at any level.

The role models thing is an interesting one.

What does, having players like Moore or Tomkins do for the sports image and does this have any effect on attracting kids into the game and as you say, is there a limit on the type of crime that is "acceptable" for players within the game.

You only have to look at football to answer that.
Plenty of people in that sport who I wouldn't want my kid to copy.
Doesn't stop people watching or playing.

I personally wouldn't have those kind of players at my club but I wouldn't stop them playing.
As long as there are enough Tom Johnstone's and Sam Burgess's in the sport the others won't matter.

Many employers don't want bad publicity and if you crime brings that...... even if it's only stupid photos or political views on Facebook you put yourself at the back of the queue.

You wonder why your double standards annoy the hell out of people and why so few serious posters no longer bother - you have noticed I assume that those who used to have worthwhile things to say rarely do theses days?

So Scott Moore a violent thug who was driving drunk and drugged up, at speeds of 150 mph plus, uninsured, violently resists arrests causing actual bodily harm to a policeman, having not a care for the public the Police, the effect of his actions on his family walks straight back into a contract in RL. Staggering absolutely staggering, in my world, when I am King I would issue everyone a Life Licence and Scott Moore would have had his revoked and he would now no longer be a burden on society.

There is absolutely no barrier to this idiot returning to work having served his time - although one could argue that his sentence was light given the potential harm of his actions.

The real issue is about the reputation and culture of the new employer - given the nature of the business and the nature of the crime, it says more about Rochdale than it does about Scott Moore; and I personally would have a real problem if our club was to do something similar.

So yes, he is entitled to return to work - but I won't welcome him back or celebrate it.

I can't believe he is only 30, another player with so much ability but pished it away. He could have had 20+ international caps.

Well, the editing of the post isn't my opinion I'm following the rules of the forum.

And I'm not defending Moore, I actually said I wouldn't have people like him at my club...... But I don't think he should stopped from working if someone else wants to employ him. He served his time by the law of the country.

Oh by the way...... It was Cosmic's comment about you I edited out. I just had to edit yours too as you quoted him. I was protection your delicate honour.
