This is why my suggestion of "treating any injured" player but taking them from the fiels until the set is complete.

Although this would "punish" and side that had genuine injuries, it would instantly stop some of the time wasting that we have now.

Also, kicking/throwing the ball away used to be punished (sometimes) with a sin binning but, this no longer happens.
The rule needs enforcing.

I seem to recall we had a couple of players 'binned' this season for this, one being Matty A at Huddersfield and the other was either the game before or just after (bit vague as old age creeping in).

This shot clock will be incredibly controversial. Any coach who doesn’t consider incorporating some spoiling tactics into the scrum 35 seconds stoppage would be very naive. I just read the following.

On a scrum both teams will have 35 seconds to form a scrum. If one team fails to set properly or a player fails to set properly then referee at his discretion can award penalty to either team he deems. (The team who lost it could be given it back instantly given some smart
Spoiling in the scrum).

So a team can knock on and your telling me your not going to niggle and make it as awkward as possible to get ball back from a penalty. I can see this being very controversial in some games. “At refs discretion” at a scrum is going to be difficult and puts the ref in a no win situation with the fans.

Not sure about this one at all.

Agreed. A fine idea in principal but, the reality is that, once again, "we" haven't fully thought this one through

I don’t mind the Golden point or the interchange reduction but this shot clock like you say on the face of it seems great but it’s going to end up a farce which massively splits opinions of fans, most likely media when (and you can guarantee) a penalty is given against the head at a crucial point in a Sky game it will turn into a joke. The refs are being set up as lambs to the slaughter with this. The smart move would have been to bring this in 2020 with 2 refs as 2 officials assessing the scrum of would likely yield more accurate decisions.

I have respect for the jobs the refs do as they are tough jobs to do but things get missed, Even guessed by officials from what I’ve seen on the rare ocassion but this is another tough one for a single official to manage. Rock and a hard place but ultimately my opinion is it will be a complete waste of time.

HaHa Little Wayne. I suspect none of us will be laughing the first time a dubious penalty wins a game for the opposition.

I would imagine nobody will be laughing if a dubious penalty wins the game irrespective of any rule change.

They've used the shot-clock in the NRL for a couple of seasons now I think? I don't watch it any more so I can't comment - but maybe someone who does can?

Reducing the inter change will have no effect whatsoever. 'Strategic' head assesments will have a dramatic increase in order to give the big guys a rest and help the sub rotation.

Most people will suspect that many are fake injuries but there is npthing that the ref or anyone else will be able to do to prevent it happening.
