The McDonald's drive through idea is interesting but I'm not sure there is actually room.
They wouldn't let it spill out on to the road so would need a whole perimeter driveway like Snow Hill has.
I think it also detracts from the front door image. I like the idea of it looking like Hull KR or Widnes when you drive up.
Me neither tbh, might need a certain creativity to work, might, of course, be totally impractical for reasons rank amateurs such as ourselves couldn't begin to understand.
It's all a bit of fun, but one thing I think we all realise is that any new stand will have to earn its keep.
I know some posters detest the BV and surrounding areas but it does have one massive advantage. Unlike N/M and most modern out of town stadiums, it is in a real place. It's not tagged onto some out of town retail/industrial estate miles from the communities it serves. It is actually smack bang in the middle of one. True the demographics of the general area has changed radically over the last 30 years and its not the natural RL territory it once was. However, IMO that doesn't matter a jot if this new stand can provide facilities and services that the local population are willing to pay to use on non-match days, then everyone is a winner.
We are where we are, we now need to play to our strength.
PS: Not suggesting McD's is an asset to the community as such, but its still jobs and it would help reinvigorate the area, other services will obviously offer more positive benefits. Gym, meeting rooms etc.
