Why? you don't think most squads have two fullbacks or that either could get injured? Don't see the need in supposedly welcoming a new player and then condemning an existing one due to his arrival.

You're right but I kinda know what the guy means.
Max looks like playing second fiddle again, nice position for us to be in but frustrating for MJ.
I think he'll be off at the end of next season if he can't force his way in as first choice FB and I wouldn't blame him.

Jowitt may have some opportunities at #6, although Milky would probably have to be injured for this to happen.
As for Jowitt dropping down the pecking order. Well, yes, he certainly has.
The signing of a specialist FB (or any other position) means that players already in that position either have to fight for their place and/or play second fiddle and in Jowitt's case, he's had to wait behind Grix, Hampshire and now Walker.

Its not a shoe-in that Jowitt is behind Walker, they both have the same opportunity to prove their worth.
Jowitt hasn't been waiting behind anybody, he just hasn't made 1 his own...as yet.

I've been wondering how the dynamics have worked with Walker and Pitts, especially during their last game for London.
Pitt's move has been a poorly kept secret for a long while, Walker less so but they both must have known the sketch long before this game.

That's what I thought, I don't get it. The main reason Jowitt hasn't played much is injuries rather than anything else. I doubt we'd have taken Escare on loan had he not been injured.

He looks more than that to me. I've only seen him twice tbh but he looks solid under the high ball, good support play, great hands and good on his feet.

The only query I have is his defence, it's looked ok on the two occasions I've seen him, but, I have not had the heart to watch the two defeats against London. Now although we lost both games we still scored a lot of points, in which case I assume London's defence was none too hot, anybody care to comment on Walkers part in this?

I don't want to be too negative.. but i just can't get excited by this. Hope i'm proved wrong but I think Hampshire is a better player and also offered ideal cover for the halves. Could have then kept Hooley as back up to Jowitt if Hampshire was needed at HB. That would be a good position to be in IMO as now we are surely going to need cover for the halves. Be interesting to see who we get in for that and we'll never know but would also be interested to see which would have been the most cost effective.

Hooley was never going to make it I'm afraid if he was he'd have been used last season and he wasn't.
