Rules wise I don’t care so long as they stick to them and then leave them alone for a while. This constant tinkering is what drives people crazy. For the first 20 years I watched the game the rules barely changed. Scrums Bevan more lax and the 10 metre rules came in and subs and interchanges but other than that fairly minor. Now there are a raft of new rules every year most of which are promptly binned.

Agree to a point but all clubs could do it in the sixties if they wanted and all players were part time .It was Wigan who started the rot when they went 100% full time professional and won every thing for years on end .M L the Wigan chairman then decided the sport should go the way the game in Ozz had gone and have a professional S L. The thing is that the game in 0zz as a cap on how much they can spend, and each team as got to be run as a business and make a profit ,and all the best players are shared around .Over here the so called big teams changed the rules when they found out the game was getting too even.So they have done away with the cap ,found ways to bend the rules to bring marquee players in . and going all out get rid of some teams in S L. .And we wounder why Australia is light years in front of what we play and i think 2 more teams are going to be added to the S L in Ozz next year

So, a partial display of common sense with scrums returning, ball stealing reverting to previous rules and players having to leave the field for treatment but some clarification is still required.
Will 6 again continue and if so, under what circumstances will there be scrums or 6 again - or penalty or wander back and do it again.
Either players have to leave the field for treatment or not and what sanction will there be if a) Wigan players ignore the ref & b) Wakefield players ignore the ref. At which point does a prone player become capable of leaving the field? There is no mention of medical assessment? Looks like the knee has jerked on this one before the brain could be engaged.
