No, they are not.

However, they will need to be redeveloped at some point as the structure itself is not permanent. The expected lifespan for these buildings is 20 years I believe and we are past that already. I believe it already has regular safety checks and eventually, I fear, it will fail.

I've talked to JM and MC about this in the past and at the time they had no plans and to be fair why would they as it's not a pressing issue.

Having been asked if I had any ideas by JM (me being a stadium buff and that he could have been humouring me) I said no, not really. As I've stated elsewhere, capacity is currently not an issue, whilst the new East stand will provide most of the missing links.

I do now have an idea that I think is quite innovative and affordable for some point in the not too distant future. Whether the club agrees I won't know until I send them the proposal (it's taken 8 months to put together so far). It may be a non-starter or they may now have ideas of their own but if you don't ask....

My understanding is that the 'flats' are going to be the 'hub' for the community, so they are an integral part of WT as a whole.

Interesting reading & I agree with all comments & discussion points in particular Vastmans open ing post, I would like to post a point that originally posted a " case law " President that still stands today, only council's ie' Local Authorities can enforce a section 106 agreement, a certain cllr Box knew this but with a box & a wink let the developer state a unilateral 106 agreement, both parties knowing it had no legal enforcement basis, the Secretary of state at the time was not bothered about the issue leaving it to good faith ! Hence all the rest is history.
But I note the current leader & council + developer have signed a legally binding 106 agreement subject to conditions. It is therefore showing correct procedure & honesty with good will & I therefore applaud them on this matter.
However, I doubt anything will be investigated to or on the corrupted parties behaviour, my opinion only, but I do say let sleeping dogs lye.
With regard to the west stand, this needs to be done at some stage in the near future in order to have a completed ground in full compliance to super league status !
How to do this without a full generous investor is the problem.
This can be achieved in piecemeal provider a fully design drawing is passed, monies raised 1st for foundations, 2nd steal columns, 3rd further steal works, 4th concrete strip footings 5th block walking 6th roof sheeting & finally fitting out, all pre costed to ensure monies cover each stage.
It's no good saying it cannot be done when Featherstone achieved it to their ground !

At some stage in the not too distant past the flats used to be used for computer studies for the community educational work ,is that still the case or has it now ceased?

Yes mate it was called the 'Learning Zone', no idea if it's still in operation.
