For the record, I would like to declare my thanks to the leader of Wakefield Council for bringing the section 106 agreement for the provisions of the upgrade of our stadium. The current Leader has shown what honesty is & has used the tools of the planning system correctly, truly a person of honour.
This all goes to show just what lies & deceit the previous leader was !
Just wanted to set the record straight & say a big thank you for this outcome, many thanks to the leader & the council.

Not sure I’d be quite that gushing. I’ll put it this way, at least this lot didn’t go out of there way to get in the way. They have done the bare minimum but to be fair that is all we ever wanted.

Whilst ever the nasty piece of work that was Peter Box was in charge nothing was ever going to happen. Why he felt and acted like that is beyond me and I don’t buy the Cas bias stuff.

I think the real signs of true support will be in the what happens next.

We owe a lot of money on the ground so I’d hope that at some point in the future a clever way of writing that off will be found or at least alleviating it.

There are still two sides of the ground to be addressed most notably the west terrace.

So I’ll hold back my full praise until then.

There certainly was a change in attitude once the previous council leader quit his position for his new job (that one seems to go belly up for him and Yorkshire). I think it more a case of keeping the dust swept under the carpet.

Seems the profile has moved from being totally obstructive to gently supportive… the whole saga will soften in the memory when we see the new frontage and (one day I hope) sit in the stand

Honesty ,that as been the problem since the new Stadium was praposed at New Market .We had guy who decided to take out tho 106 agreement to line the pockets of his friends. thinking we can get away with this ,because of the state of the club they will not be here in 2 year .Then in stepped Mr Carter one of the most Honest people we have had at the club said it as it was.Though is hard work he as turned us from a down and out club to one we can be proud of. Think it shows if we had a Honest guy in charge at the beginning and a council that insisted on a 106 agreement thing would have been a lot better

To be honest I think it’s JM s experience in business and major contracts that has pulled us through to this point… no previous owner has had this type of experience. Not discounting the contribution of MC to our current position.

Agree about J M done a great job moving us forward ,but it was Mr Carter who saved us .We are so lucky to have two people who care so much about the club .

Both have completely different roles at the club so you can't compare.

For a start, I don't know if JM has any shares in the club? I assume he does but I also assume MC is the majority shareholder.

Anyway, MC runs the entity that is the business, there is no doubt about that. Again I've no real idea what input John has in the day-to-day stuff but I think it's fair to assume it's not as much as MC.

As far as I can tell, other than the standard responsibilities of being a director of the club, JM has one main mission and has done it from day one. That was to move the redevelopment of BV forward by bringing WMDC and Yorkcourt back to the table. That is clearly his skill set.

So in a way, I think it's wrong to say MC saved us, because without what JM has achieved it would only have been a stay of execution as an SL club. In their own ways, both are as important, where they differ is that MC has clearly been at the coal face far longer and has risked more personally, I don't think JM would disagree with that.

Either way, when all this is done and dusted they both deserve the undying gratitude of the fans and the city. Even if you don't agree with everything that's happened only a true pedant wouldn't admit that both have achieved more in eight years than all the previous regimes lumped together since the 1960's and that was a very different world.

Agree ,as said we are so lucky to have them .It is now down to the hit and miss fans to get behind the club ,Let's get the supporters back to say thank you to the club
