I have to say this is a really good deal for rugby league.
I hope they can make it all work. We have a habit of getting good people involved and then deal with them like a local cubs group.
Could be big if we let them do their job.

It depends what they decide to do with regards the restructuring of the league and how much autonomy they have from the self interest of the so called bigger clubs.

Excellent point. I am sure we have had so called 'reviews' before but as soon as it potentially adversely impacts on one of the so called bigger clubs it all gets quietly filed away.

That is why it is good to have an external company doing it.
If the best way to promote the sport is a 10 league team (as an example) then that's what we should do. It's up to Wakefield to get in to the 10 rather than hold the sport back.

Whilst I suspect that we will all agree that the sport needs to be taken to the next level and it is up to the club to get us there, I fear it won't be long before the "M" word rears it's ugly head again

My understanding is a Super league 1 and Super League 2, both of ten teams. At the end of the 2023 season The bottom 2 teams of super league will be relegated to the new SL 2 to join the top 7 teams in the old championship and the position for the 10th team in SL 2 will be decided by a play off system involving the remaining bottom championship teams plus the top team from Division 1, I could be wrong though, but who knows, this is Rugby League, and how much sway will the new IMG have on deciding the make up of the new league, and my guess is that licensing won’t be far behind.
