Not good for Lyne that. Wish him well in recovery.

I have been a big fan of Lyne and he was very good in 2021. In my opinion he’s been off boil a lot this year for whatever reason that may be.

I feel it gives opportunity to someone else. Probably Batchelor/Minns. The way Batch has played at centre especially following tanginoa’s charges I’m more than happy for him to continue there longer term.

We've also got Croft available from his loan, if we wish to use him.
Don't know what is happening with Bill T.

We've got a good 3/4 line out ie Tom, Bill, Reece, Liam K, with Lee K in reserve.

I watched Tupou vs hull reserves. He made it through the game but the second half was limping badly and had some swelling. He made some contributions but I can’t see him playing for the first team for some considerable time if at all. He has been an excellent player at trinity over the years though and I have fond memories of him like dismantling Watkins a couple of years ago at Headingly.

Yes we do have some strike out for sure. Personally I think Batch has played better these past two games than Lyne has in many of his games this year (and I rate Lyne!). Other than TJ I’m happy to keep with our current backs.

Tom Lineham has come back and quietly knuckled down and got through a ton of work in carries. Been pretty happy with how he’s been going to be honest.

Croft I thought I’d more a left centre but I think it’s hard to drop Batch when he’s got 2 x MOTM performances in right centre. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it.

It's an ill wind that blows no good as they say. Batch at centre has been a breath of fresh air with his direct running and safe carries. His partnership with Tanganoa last week was especially exciting to watch.

Lyne has had a poor season but hadn’t they all up until recently.

In attacking terms Batch has been amazing and I’ll be honest scored twice Lyne possibly wouldn’t.

However the hardest part of centre play is defence imho and Lyne remains one of the best at that. For me batch is a bit off that yet but all things are relative.

Batch has always played in the pack for us but there is no doubt that his style and body type look very suited to the centre role. Be interesting to see what transpires. But it looks like the job is his for now to make of it what he wants.
