I always thought with the greatest respect to these teams that the next three fixtures would be perfect for Lawford to have a run out.

Powell was brutally honest in the presser about Lawford wasn't he - stopping only just short of saying he bottled it at Batley. Which to be fair is nail on head - he will get there and maybe the next 3 games will help, agree.

Lawford needs games to work on things. Next few games are an opportunity for that. With Lino limping I can see Lawford coming in next week partnering Gale.

I thought it was poor of Powell to say this in a press conference, what he thinks about a player and his performance in a previous game should stay within the dressing room, no doubt he will have spoken to Lawford since the game telling him what he needs to do going forwards, and that should have been the end of it. He could've answered the question by saying that he went with Kaye because of his greater experience in big games.

I've watched Powell's interview twice and I'm struggling to see where the criticism is coming from.He told it like it was,in his opinion, and even said that near half-time and struggling a bit, they were wondering if they should maybe have included Myles after all.Coaches are interviewed all the time these days and if they start telling porkies they'll be found out in no time. That's not to say though that at certain times somethings are best left unsaid. But if a coach is asked a straight question he should give a straight answer.

Have to agree. That was something I didn't really like about Powell's style at Cas.
He clearly has the dressing room so he clearly handles it well but personally I'd keep that within the team.

Watched the game again last night.
Is the tackle by Taufua on Thornley a legal challenge? He doesn't appear to make any attempt to use his arms. Will be interesting to see if the MRP look at it

I didn’t, it’s a man’s game and they need to be tough - he needs to take it on the chin, I’m all for it, a no blame culture is a losing culture. One proviso, is that is across the board, fairs fair.
