I watch the BBC news channel often, every bulletin includes at least some rugby union news, but rarely do they say anything about rugby league. Even today when there's a challenge cup game on BBC there was nothing, is it the BBC or is it the RFL publicity department not doing it's job?

I prefer to get my news from more reliable sources anyway.

You might but there are plenty of people who don't usually follow our sport that do. We will stay a minority sport if the powers that be don't promote RL. You would have thought that at least the BBC would want to promote their programming.

The money men at the top of the BBC are only interested in the other code, RL competes directly with RU even though Solomona, Sale and the RFU don't acknowledge it even exists.
Locally, its regional news and as such has to be reported on, though even that is pretty weak sometimes.
Top and bottom of it is, RL is not accepted by the establishment, the RFU is made up of the establishment so it will not ever get the National coverage and promotion it deserves.

Surely, it's up to the media people at each club and the RFL to "generate" stories that the media will be interested in.
Perhaps it's so quiet because the big clubs arent doing so well this season ?

It's still a very poor effort though.

We don't do well on the BBC tv news but BBC radio five live we're live at Warrington from 12 noon. I can't understand why they don't promote it more on tv when the BBC has less and less live sport broadcast so you would think they would promote the few they have left!!
