Blown it - So naive today! : Sun Jul 23, 2017 5:41 pm

Thought we got it so badly wrong today.
I think that we could afford to lose by 14 and still end in the top four,
but a win would have given us a top 4 finish.

Coaches and players have to take a look at themselves today.

Players did not look up for it, did they not realise they could finish outside
the top four? There seemed to be no hunger and we were completely outmuscled
and failed to meet the enthusiasm of Saints.

Coaches were ineffective in overcoming Saints tactics where their centres and wings
were far too quick into our line to stop the ball getting out wide. Aided by our slow
passing, their forwards dominated ours and were faster in speed and thinking.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but mistakes were made playing Hasson and Lynn who clearly
were not fit. Grix looked a shadow of his early season form and Jowitt should have played to
inject some pace into a game that we should be have been set up as an attacking force.

So disappointed to lose today but angry to lose our points differential after Salford handed us a
top four spot after losing at Leigh on Friday.

I bet Michael Carter is also upset at losing the extra home game too.

Been a bad week this, lets hope there is some good news about the ground before the 31st July
deadline with the RFL.

Yeah, you're right, rubbish season, would rather be in the Middle 8's fighting for survival and not being able to confirm any signings for next season!
Some people need to look at the money spent on our squad compared to other teams and what MC, CB and the coaching team have achieved in the last few years.

Why oh why do we never seem to be up for the big occasion, two of the speediest wingers in the game and we could only get the ball out to the winger once, when MCB scored. Their whole approach was far more professional and speedier than ours. I don't think we strung more than two passes together per tackle. Saints gave us a lesson in rugby league today. Also, how come the new lad came straight into the side for such an important with so little playing time this season? Very disappointing day.

We could always forget all the self pity and recriminations for a while and just give saints the credit they deserve for their win

He's not talking about the season as a whole FFOF. He's talking about a potential TOP 3 side who were embarassingly bad today. We all know what a good season it's been and MC and CB have worked miracles, but the fact is we were still BAD!!!!

Hasson cocked up before half time but early in the second half forced the error from Saints.
Tackles low and hard, not flash but goes about his business and can only improve with more game time.

And that's why some perspective needs to come into the performance.
We have been punching above our weight but one disappointing result and the knives are out again.
Too much expectation in a short amount of time.
We have been spoilt this season.

HINDSIGHT? We've been crying out for Jowitt for half the chuffin season. WTF did he do wrong in that Salford away win?
