Tonga v Samoa : Sat Nov 04, 2017 10:16 pm
What a match!!!!!
Two fantastic attacking teams made a great game of rugby league. Those guys would run through a brick wall if they had to.
On this morning's showing i would back Tonga to beat Australia. I've never seen a RL crowd so passionate for their team, and so vociferous.
It would be one hell of a catch if we could get Andrew Fifita to play alongside their kid.

Watching the Tonga game this morning just puzzles me as to how that other oval-balled, bore-a-thon game attracts the crowds that it does.

It was awesome, especially the double Haka and not a bad game either, although Tonga always looked likely winners.

Sadly they wouldn't beat Australia in fact imho they would be at risk of being whooped. The game was brilliant to watch because both teams follows the same script allowing total freedom. The Aussies would never allow that and after 20 minutes Tonga would lose their shape.

No amount of passion can overcome the fundamental understanding of the game that the Aussies posses. Only in the forwards can they be challenged but super smart pivot players and clinical backs compensate for that.

Bet could beat England in a one off but over a series even the lesser SL giant would be too disciplined.

They could beat NZ perhaps because of certain similarities. However at the moment there is Australia then there is the rest :-(

Yeah vasty. I was letting my heart rule my head when I said I would back them against Oz, and your summising is probably right, 11 out of 10 for their style of play and dauntless attitude though.

I'm not usually a big follower of international RL, but the Tongans have revitalised my interest. Am I correct in thinking that the FreeSport commentator said that the total population of Tonga was only 100,000? Unbelievable!!!!!

One thing that I've noticed in the RLWC17 games that I've seen so far is that there has been a distinct lack of "offside" calls at the play the ball. Is this because referees are after a continuation of the game or is it something that is only
experienced in the British game?
