There is a los being said as to whether the concept should remain or not, and if it is to remain, where it should be played.

Here is a thought as Magic Weekend is approaching. How about it being played in a city that has 2 stadiums, and bringing the summer bash to the same weekend. You could have the 2 running, side by side, in the same city, bringing more of the rugby family together. I would consider this on a Bank Holiday weekend so that fans can embrace both concepts.

Thoughts?

Manchester?

It's not a bad idea to be fair, especially if they were to offer one ticket where you are free to enter both venues and witness a mixture of games.

More fans = increase in ticket sales = more money for the club = potential signings/ground improvements/backroom facilities = better club = higher league position

So whilst youre partly right on the increase in ticket sales, this would be vastly offset by having to split it between more clubs, the majority of which in the championship wont be bringing many fans. Therefore makiing it less attractive for super league clubs.

Another side note would be that your point would apply to all clubs, so any increase for us would also happen for all clubs, making its impact unnoticeable.

Also the logistics and health/ safety of joint stadium tickets for a certain day would make it unfeasible. you could have a split weekend ticket though, as in stadium 1 on the saturday, stadium 2 on the sunday.

I am sure the Etihad or Old Trafford would be very interested in the attendances that the Summer Bash would bring

Why don`t we change it to Easter Weekend, run it from Good Friday to Easter Monday and play both comps (Alternate between SL and Championship).

Unless I am mis-reading this doesn't seem to make sense. If both events run simultaneously then people can't attend both, therefore attendances would be down?

Summer Bash attendance was 16,444 in 2017 which would surely only increase by giving the Championship fans an opportunity to watch SL standard whilst supporting their own team that weekend.

It'd be a hell of a task but I can see it being profitable and beneficial to everyone involved.
