OMG, ask your self if your watching this opening game of the season, can our side play at this speed & force whilst still being organized & purposeful ? We will have to speed up !

Easy, no problem. I’ve thought the same every time I’ve watched these so called big clubs but we’ve nearly always come up with the goods, should’ve beaten Saints home and away last season, we will be no push over this season

Y'know....I got pretty bored watching that game, if I hadn't been starved of RL for 3 months I'da probably turned it off.
I dunno if it was because I couldn't care less who won it, or because it was all hell and no notion for 60 mins, or it was actually just a dull down the middle defensive war for 60.
Its early days and I think Saints tailored their game plan to get a win, which sucked all the invention out of the game, this can't be an average league game for 2019, its just a Sts Wigan thing hopefully.

I enjoyed it immensely but I know what you mean about the "hell and no notion" thing. Not much structured play but it was hard and it was fast, but perhaps there was that feeling that the lack of rests allows teams to bully others. I think when the forward start picking up knocks we'll see something less frenetic but with more gaps. It certainly beat the standing around sessions that most games had become last year.

Have to remember it’s Round 1 when teams are still working on things especially Wigan having a new coach so structure won’t be the best. Perhaps several games will be better to judge it.

Enjoyed it, pints win plaudits.
But... Stand offside and not get penalised will allways create a tight game.
Negative on day 1, hope I am more positive in the snow on Sunday.

If so what game were you watching - I thought our game against Hull was more physical.

It was a decent spectacle for the neutral, given that all teams will have cobwebs to blow off at the start of the season.

Saints looked the more complete outfit to me - and their pack bullied Wigan from the outset; Wigan look a bit betwixt and between - Wane's biff and barge, 'ard lovers style of RL is obviously not Lam's, and they seemed a bit confused about what they should be doing at times. Some things remain constant though - Williams is still a cheating little get who milks like a dairy farmer.
