Thought he looked more comfortable tonight. Got caught out once but over all ok. It’s going to take a while to rebuild that left edge but tbf I personally rate Arundel as good in his own way as Bill and a more than adequate replacement. Max has an impossible task but then anyone would replacing TJ but if they can find a grove to suit Ashurst, Arundel and Jowitt could still be pretty potent - we’ve had a lot worse in the past!

They (just like the wire) targeted our left edge in the 1st half......
However, 2nd half I thought they stepped up well.

We looked really weak on the left. Giants created far too many overlaps and space. Obviously it’s a new role and combination for him but please, stick to your winger!!

Yep has to be a confidence booster for Max, Hampshire has been all season.

Max was murdered against Warrington where as last night it was just part of the learning curve. There is some work to do yet but he’s hopefully heading in the right direction.

Performed as well as could be expected, left exposed on a number of occasions, but did the job and will hopefully only get better the more he gets used to the position. Moot point but if Johnstone received the ball where Jowitt did in the opposition 20 I reckon he would've had two trys, but I guess that's the difference between a natural finisher and a young full back playing out of position.

Completely agree with the last sentence. He doesn’t have Johnstone’s killer instinct for the try line with in tight games can be crucial. We got the win which is all that matters but if we want to push for a play off spot it could be the difference

Exactly this.
Went better than his first outing on the wing and he will keep improving.
Not sure that we can blame Jowitt (or Arundell) when the numbering is wrong either.
If he stays on his wing, he will get done on the inside and if he comes in, he gets done on the outside.

He's going ok and will get better and better.

Excellent under the high ball and wont get done one on one.
Strangely, the more that teams try to "test" him, the quicker he will improve.

No worries we will score 6 down their right side. After all even though you do not see it we have one of the best attacks this season.
