Geoff Wraith was possibly my all-time favourite Trinity full back. Very, very safe as the last line of defence. His illustrious career marred somewhat by moving to Cas after a spell in Oz. All now forgiven. RIP Geoff. A sad loss, indeed.
a sad loss. I remember him coming back as player coach towards the end of his career, and getting the ball near half way. He made a break through the defensive line and raced for the line with the crowd willing him to score - unfortunately the old legs had gone and he was tackled short. Great FB. RIP
Such a nice guy, worked in the printing industry had a company supplying chemicals. Often used to chat with him about the game always pleasant. Lived in Woodlesford think in recent years had suffered ill health. RIP Geoff one of the best
Great Full Back , good under the high ball , solid as a rock takler , and could enter the attacking line like the late Garry Cooper. Extremely underated a sad loss and another great gone. R I P
My favourite memory is from a game against the touring aussies at belle Vue. Langer I think he was called burst through and looked all over a scorer but Geoff took him down with a copy book tackle. The little grub didn't like it and kicked Geoff in the face. Geoff was a top fullback who rarely got beat one on one.
Defensive wall at the back. Great loss to the team when he left (Australia?) RIP
Didn't he go to Cas from us?
I have a distant memory of him being quality, but as a childhood fan I was a little more of the Les Sheard era. I know my dad rated Geoff Wraith as the best of that time.
