I went out on the weekend and bought myself a gun holster but I'm keeping a bottle of antibacterial gel in there.

I dont think that the gel is going to save you, or anyone else.
On the basis that there is no cure for the Coronavirus, it's cross your fingers time.

Mind you, if you wait outside the toilets at the back, you could make a fortune selling hand wash

Anti bacterial hand wash very much can save your life.

Despite the name they will all kill a virus stone dead. A virus unlike bacteria is extremely fragile outside of its host. Some like this one can survive for a short while in the air though direct contact with UV will destroy most. The vast majority of virus of which this is one will be destroyed by direct contact with concentrate alcohol.

True, once it’s inside you the only thing that can defeat it is your own immune system, but wipes etc will help stop that being required.
