I don't think we need to win something to get crowds back. The stadium and the marketing is the key.
Our marketing isn't bad but who really, even if we win something is going to come down to Belle Vue. We do it because we have history with the place but we are always going to find it hard without something a bit more comfortable or welcoming.
Sorry PT but it simply isn’t, marketing is a myth in that you can only market success whether that be sausages or Rugby.
Apart from a hard core most people simply will not keep paying to see failure. You could give them a throne to sit on and it wouldn’t help. I think your being incredibly unrealistic.
Look at Cas, a marginally better stadium but twice the gates with a quarter of the population. Please explain how they achieve that. I’ll tell you, they have been to Wembley and Old Trafford in the last ten years and have actually won a Trophey in living memory, well not quite but almost.
You are clearly steeped in the club and the sport which is fine but it’s blinded you a bit imo. Most people aren’t, they just want the reflected glory. I know for a fact that a fair few ‘current’ Cas fans are from Wakefield and once supported the team, then again there are some Rhinos fans who are the same and the ones who went over to the Bulls in their glory days.
We mean nothing to most of the cities population because we never win anything. Sure a new stadium especially the improved commercial revenue will help fund better players but until we actually win again or at least compete in finals you can forget a bout us re-entering the public’s consciousness and them returning in numbers.
Sorry, wish I were wrong, I often am but not this time.
