Nothing to lose : Mon Mar 14, 2022 9:12 am
Cliche I know but against Warrington, we don't have anything to fear so long as we give 100%.

They are massive favourites to win this one and rightly so, on paper a far better team and with no disrespect a far more experienced coach. So no pressure on us at all, we are cannon fodder in the eyes of most. A good place to be IMHO on such occasions as these.

So let's just go for it from minute one. I don't mean to be silly and throw out silly passes for the sake of it but just front them up from the start and play to win, however unlikely that may be.

Powell has a hoodoo over us but motivating Cas to beat their neighbours was relatively easy. Warrington players on the other hand will just see us as a maggot team that they should beat easily, human nature. If that's the case then the Powell effect won't matter as much and might even be their weakness.

I fully expect a Warrington win based on science but as ever I never rule us out because RL is not an exact science

Basically, let's hope they are complacent and we are not. To use the old chant 'get into em, get into em'. Been a while since we've done that.

I would agree, Warrington will be expected to win this game but to be honest so far this season, they just don`t look to be clicking at all, they look poor to me and the fact we have been in games with Saints and Catalan who look miles ahead should give us some confidence we can go over there and have every chane of turning them over. I think we are at our best when we have nothing to lose to be honest, against Tolouse we looked to be forcing things a little and that was probably why are execution seemed off.

A lot also depends on the conditions. WP seems to want expansive RL and that's not easy on heavy grounds in the rain. Of course, that may well apply to Warrington and all other teams. But due to our lack of size up the middle then out wide is where you'd expect us to concentrate our best efforts. I just have this feeling that firmer drier conditions will benefit us more than most. Fingers crossed.

I keep saying it but if we can play anywhere near the standard we did against the saints I feel we are in with a good shout .Our forwards are IMO better than theirs ,we hopefully will have both our halfbacks playing for the first time this season , get our cover out wide sorted and we’re in for a great game .Only saints are performing so far with shudds n les cats trailing in their wake .Even Wigan had a wake up call over the weekend . Ive seen enough of us so far that it’s not the going forwards that’s going to be the problem but the defence against the wires ,tighten that up ,don’t get sucked in ,and hopefully get some time on their try line n let Miller/Lino do their stuff .

Agree on the forwards, it`s clear as day they are lacking big time in the front row, it was before the season started but even more so now I have watched them a few times. Also agree with Vasty on the conditions, but I actually think Wire also relish a firmer ground with the balance of there team. All of that said I think wire have a massive performance in them every so often and can beat anyone on there day, hopefully that`s not this weekend!

Does anyone know what time the coaches are to leave Wakefield? Looking to get into the club shop tomorrow for a ticket and travel.

Probably best to ask in the club shop bud. They’ll have all the info :thumb:

Very tough game, this one.
But, Wire are certainly not firing on all cylinders yet and hopefully they wont on Saturday.
As the op suggests, there is nothing to lose here and we can have a real good dig.

Hopefully some confidence gained after our win last week and Lino was certainly getting back into the groove.

An old style Trinity upset would be superb !

Come on Trin !

Be one of those where we get walloped or we make a real fist of it like at Saints or Cats and we are due one of those ending the right way IMO.
