Fresh start with this one , i’m maybe not expecting the win , but I am expecting a vast improvement in just about every facet of our game , especially the kick chase , and defer our wide , because that’s exactly where they will aim for seeing as it’s our Achilles heel at this moment in time . Not expecting miracles, but I still firmly believe that the coach and team will come good and be a force to be reckoned with . All this dummy spitting on social media is imo premature after 2 games in , now if we’re being knocked from pillar to post in rounds 6/8 then it’s worrying but I e been and done it and got the T shirt as far as watching blow out scores , and we’ve always come back against the odds and put a smile on our faces , I see nothing different this season, with wakey patience is the key , it will come .

Not sure how we do it but, we need to have the same mentality as Wigan had after they went down at KR.
Start again and rip into them.
I fully accept that we dont have the same players as Wigan but, our attitude has to be on it.
There is no time for feeling sorry for ourselves and it's time to roll up our sleeves and not take a backward step.
Gaskill should stay at FB, he does have some experience there and has had some decent games in that position.

We're 2 games in and it's important to stay positive.(I know it's hard).

Haven’t been able to get to a match since Boxing Day so can’t comment on the performances so far but I’ll be at BV on Friday after cycling 100 miles from home in North Warwickshire (raising money for Alzheimer’s Society). I’d love a win obviously but as a minimum I’d expect them to show the same level of guts (100 miles in to a forecast North wind!) and commitment to the cause as I will. Come on lads!!

No matter what, ability wise, our squad is mid table Championship at best, this was proved in the 4 pre season matches and was there for everyone to see, the Catalans match showed that match management and rugby intelligence wise we are mid table League 1 at best, the Wigan match showed that the team has a level of fight, determination, leadership, desire, physicality that would be outmatched by a Stanley Rangers over 60`s team.
Over the last few seasons decent players have left and been replaced with poor players. When you look at the squad it really should not be a surprise that every bookie and pundit had us a relegation certainties, we cannot do anything about the lack of talent and ability in the squad unless the board invest in new players, what is hugely concerning is how thick they are re match management and their total lack of desire.

But they’ve had us down for relegation for years , so nothing new there . Far far better squad than what we have seen on the pitch so far , you’ve only to look at the wires last season , bristling with big money, quality signing and where did they end up …below little old wakey . Plenty of games left to get our act together , Wigan only did to us what we did to them a few years ago, so not end of the world . So many players leaving and a few pre season games is hardly enough time to get players up to speed. Plenty to work on this week that’s for sure , and a big sot of pride and passion certainly wont go amiss , but I’m excited at the prospect of watching a hopefully much improved performance against the Giants

The problem is that these type of performances are not just the last two games not even the last two seasons. I note we like to quote Warrington but they have used the offseason to rectify the problems so as to avoid it this season. We on the other hand have done nothing other than to weaken the squad to a point that our on field options are severely limited.

The Huddersfield certainly isn’t ‘must win’, but it is definitely ‘must perform’. A response to last week is absolutely vital and we’ll learn a lot about the team this week.

Disagree, it’s a must win. Need to get points on the board ASAP.

Re: Huddersfield next : Mon Feb 27, 2023 1:12 pm
Notice that Leigh are taking a Wigan player on loan, Shorrocks I think. One thing for certain is that Leigh are not going to wait around and see what happens. They know that its a shoot out between us and them, anybody thinking that Hull Kr, Salford, Leeds or Cas are going to be in the relegation mix is dreaming. Think we play Leigh three times ( could be wrong ), they know win those games and its job done and probably win 2 and you are still OK . Just take a reality pill for a minute, if we were playing Leigh this weekend and were setting the handicap for the bookies you would be giving us a 20 point start.

Wires have rectified their problem by probably throwing the most amount of money of probably any club in super league , a feat we simple can’t match . And just remember that two of our most high profile players in Johnstone and Tupou didn’t feature in most if any of our games last season . Fans already berating Mash as a waste of time , but who had heard of Peet before he took over the first team , came through the same system , and yes Wigan are a cut above and have been in the super league era ,with their years of professionalism behind them But it wasn’t always the case I remember the furore of over spending on the cap to keep them up . We’re 2 games in ,we’ve always had these beatings in us ,but we’ve always bounced back ,and I’m positive we will this time .
