Based purely on the level of respect he showed to the club turning up in such a state, i think we have done exactly the right thing (morally) despite our obvious need for some size, in giving him a wide birth (pun intended).
Have to wholeheartedly agree with this.
The guy turned up last year about as unfit as I have seen any Pro RL player in recent times. I know he was not getting game time anywhere and was left waiting for a long time on his visa etc but that is no excuse for being in the condition he was.
I realise he was never going to be "match-fit" but he could not have been described as fit in any way, shape or form. You would have thought a professional athlete would at least keep himself reasonably fit whilst waiting to take up a new contract.
When he scored on his debut at Salford , some of the crowd started singing "there's only one Jarrad Hickey" however there appeared to be at least two of them in the one body that night.
