Too reliant on Super League has-beens. They were full of vim early doors, but Salford didn't have to raise their game too much to put them away. They played a near perfect first half, but they won't do that every week. They couldn't do it for a whole game. A bit like Leigh last year, but I just don't think they'll be as effective over seven games as Leigh were.
Here's the rubbish you are defending. Adam Quinlan, Ben Cockayne, Thomas Mimms, Jamie Ellis, Nick Scruton, Chris Clarkson, Ben Kavanagh, Jordan Abdul, all played SL and deemed not good enough which is what he's referring to, not to mention those others who couldn't attract the attention of SL clubs, Shaun Lunt certainly but like Scruton lacks ambition and only there for the money.

Yeah, dunno about the has-beens but they've definitely lost an edge, they won't have a perfect half every week, or any week really because they don't have to, haven't seen them much this season but playing in the champs week in week out is bound to blunt your performance one way or another, blunt it for SL I mean, its clearly not blunt for the champs. My guess is that they upped their game for Salford but could still only put together one competitive half, don't think Salford were on their metal either really. They kept themselves in it and were competitive at times in some areas but it never looked like an upset was on the cards. I wanna see em back in SL, but it definitely isn't a shoe-in, on the other had...would they be worse than Leigh ?

Isn't every player at any club for money? I have the upmost respect for wakey as a club, as they've never cheated the cap, always done well on a modest budget and not playing to the biggest of crowds every week. But wakey have managed it and have never been relegated from SL, so kudos for that. However, are you belittling your own club by calling players at other clubs over their ambition, because at the end of the day, you could quite easily say the same for most players at wakey.
As for the players mentioned, Lunt and Blair walk in to most Teams in SL, both took cuts in pay, but are our top earners on somewhere near 110k a year, both worth that imo. Tommy Minns is a fantastic talent, he had SL interest and deservedly so after scoring 20 tries last term, greenwood the same minus the same number of tries, being a SR. Scruton was signed as player to play for us in SL, he won't be on the big bucks you think he's on, certainly a fair wage, but rovers have gone away from paying stupid salarys to players (Kelly an campese for instance) and want players that want to play for the club and do well. Maybe your slightly bitter towards Scuton, but he has been fantastic for Rovers, and was at it again against Salford on Friday night. I'll give you Ellis, Cockayne and Horne who you hadn't mentioned, defo not good enough for SL, however, great players at championship level. Ben Kav was signed for the championship from Bradford, been a very good signing for us thus far. Abdull is a hot prospect at only 21, hence why Hull have signed him up for another 4 years, and to call him a hasbeen is simply ludicrous.

I think it's a bit unfair to say it's a team of SL has beens, you should get promoted I think. Better than Leigh and Widnes. Think Scruton is on a pretty good wage though, he was one of our highest earners I think and apparently went to Rovers as he was offered 5k extra.

Absolutely rovers are paying him more, can't argue that. As I said, can't really label him a hasbeen for signing with us when it was originally to continue playing in SL, just feel that's a tad bitter.
