If it raises the profile of Super League then it's a brave move but maybe it would be better to do a round of fixtures on the road. The Wigan game at Millwall was fairly well attended by locals (still not having it there were 9k in the ground but the crowd was decent for something not previously seen in Bermondsey).

This all depends on what they are getting out of playing over there.
IF they are being paid to play in Oz and getting decent sponsorship, why not.

I agree that it seems strange but, if it was a couple of Aussie clubs doing the same over here
it would be ok so, why not ?

I will go and watch but that is because I follow super league- I really don't think many hussies will care- its being played in the gong which Is a bit of a regional area that only get 4 dragons games a year so a few might go for a look- its a beautiful part of the world -beaches,suronded by mountains and country well worth a trip over here if anybody is keen.

Was there in March and got stopped for a chat two or three times about RL as I was wearing a Wakey polo shirt. Can recommend a visit to the Builders Club, good food at reasonable prices. Sign up as a member ($8) and get 10% of food and drink. The more you drink the more you save !

As clarification for those who are curious, the explanation I have from my wife (who is a Hull fan) is that both clubs had arranged a pre-season trip out to Aus for their friendly matches. Once they realised they would both be out there around the same time they began talking about whether to play each other. It seemed a good idea at the time and they have managed to get an RFL sanction for the game. It is not an RFL initiative but something the clubs have initiated. It is not something where we are trying to find new fans overseas in an NRL heartbed, but rather coincidental.

I think its a great idea - get a bit of exposure in a RL mad country. Maybe have a word with the teams to try and play an expansive game and get the SL brand some traction. Obviously it will never get anywhere near to NRL but people watch football italia and MLS shows over here so why not?

So Wigan and Hull decide the fixture list now then? Like when Wigan cancelled their home game v Widnes this year... who runs the rfl???
